Deepan among leaders

KODUNGALLUR: Tamil Nadu's Deepan Chakravarthy, the top-seeded Grandmaster, was among the leaders after the third round of the Rotary Club of Kodungallur's all-India FIDE-rated chess tournament here on Saturday evening.

However IM Arghayadip Das was off-colour and was forced to share points with Maharashtra's Roshan Rangarajan and Kerala's Ajeesh Antony in the second and third rounds.

The results (third round): Deepan Chakravarthy (3) bt M.A. Joy Lazar (2), P. Konguvel (2) lost to Atul Dahale (3), Gireman Jha (2) lost to K. Ratnakaran (3), Himanshu Sharma (2.5) drew with S.L. Narayanan (2.5), S. Ganesh Babu (2.5) drew with D.V. Prasad (2.5), P.D.S. Girinath (3) bt Suman Basu (2), Tamal Chakrabarti (2) lost to Arjun Tiwari (3), D.P. Singh (2) lost to N.R. Visakh (3), Sarbajit Adhikari (2) los to T.U. Navin Kanna (3), M. Kunal (3) bt P.K. Suresh (2) .
