CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Blood Transfusion Council is preparing photo-identity cards for all children suffering from haemophilia to enable them to avail of facilities being provided by the State Government. This was stated by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in a message issued on the eve of World Haemophilia Day. He said those suffering from this genetic blood disorder were affected physically and emotionally and the “high cost of treatment adds to their financial stress.” Mr. Hooda said his regime was providing blood units free of cost to all such patients and free transport facility to all children suffering from haemophilia in State Roadways buses for travel to the nearest health facility or blood bank for blood transfusion or Anti- Haemophilia Factor (AHF) treatment. Also, children suffering from haemophilia are entitled to free education up to Class X in government schools.
