Cricket fans and office-bearers of Kerala Cricket Association receive the team. Nedumbassery: Kochi Tuskers Kerala, the home team of Kochi that registered its first IPL victory upsetting the mighty Mumbai Indians, was accorded a warm reception on its arrival here on Saturday. Hordes of cricket buffs apart from the office-bearers of the Kerala Cricket Association turned up at the airport to receive and felicitate the team on its landing here by a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai at 3.45 p.m. Loud cheers resounded in the air as soon as the players emerged out of the terminal and the supporters lined up to greet the players. The players were received with all the traditional pomp and ceremony along with a ‘Singari Melam'. Interacting with reporters, a jubilant Geoff Lawson, team coach, said the victory would serve as a morale booster for the team. “If we can beat Mumbai Indians in Mumbai, we can beat any team in their home turf,'' he exuded confidence. Kochi Tuskers Kerala had successfully chased a target of 183 to beat Mumbai Indians by eight wickets at the Mumbai Wankhede Stadium on Friday. Lawson said that the bowlers needed to improve their performance in the coming matches though they had done well enough to restrict Mumbai Indians for a score of 181. Regarding the next match against the Chennai Super Kings at April 18, he said that every team was a tough opponent in IPL though any team was beatable.
