Sagar water to be released for 15 more days

Staff Reporter

GUNTUR: Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu has assured the farmers that water would be released from Nagarjuna Sagar for 15 more days so that they could irrigate their crops before the summer season reaches its peak soon.

His assurance came in response to a memorandum submitted by a delegation of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), wherein they stated that water supply should be continued for two more weeks and the power supply maintained without interruptions. Water will be now supplied till this month end as per the demand of TDP and of farmers who expressed anguish that they did not get enough quantity of water from Nagarjuna Sagar, particularly in tail-end areas.
