ONGC overcomes JCT

Kolhapur: ONGC kept its hopes of avoiding relegation alive as it defeated JCT 2-1 in round 22 of the I-League football here on Sunday.

Badmus Babatunde struck twice for the home side as ONGC rallied after Ajay Singh gave the visitor its only goal of the match in the 40th minute.

Babatunde first scored in the 54th minute to restore parity for the home side and found the match-winner in the injury time (90+3).

Following this win, ONGC now has 18 points from 22 matches. — PTI
