Police re-examine Sirisha case

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: The city police have begun re-examination of the Sirisha accident case and even questioned the ‘108' ambulance personnel, who had shifted the girl to the hospital from the accident site.

The ambulance staff were asked as to who had alerted them about the accident in view of conflicting reports that an electrician had informed ambulance services about the accident. But, the main accused Lokesh had from the beginning claimed that he had first alerted the 108 services and that his relatives admitted her to the hospital.

Police were also inquiring whether two or more persons had informed the ambulance services, as information was coming to 108 from multiple channels at the time of accidents. In addition to this, the police were also questioning the witnesses who gathered at the accident site on that day. The information collected from different sources was being pooled together.

Parallel investigation

As the CID officials were conducting the parallel investigation, the case was being scrutinised very closely with information being taken from everyone concerned with this. The city police said that they were collecting physical and oral evidence from various sources so as to resolve the case as early as possible.

Commissioner of Police Amit Garg, Deputy Commissioner of police M. Ravindranath Reddy and Assistant Commissioner of Police West Zone V.N.V. Satyanarayana questioned the witnesses and the ambulance personnel about different aspects of the case. They were also collecting information from the relatives of the accident victim Sirisha who lost three fingers in the accident. Mr. Satyanarayana said that it would take some more time to crack the case, as evidence from all sources had to be co-related.
