Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition on Monday said he would examine the legal aspects of the notice issued by the Lok Ayukta in the issue related to the allegations against Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan's son, V.A. Arun Kumar.
The Lok Ayukta had issued notice to Mr. Arun Kumar and Mr. Chandy to personally appear before it while considering a petition referred to it by Mr. Achuthanandan.
The Opposition had raised the allegations in the Assembly and outside against Mr. Arun Kumar.
The Chief Minister had asked the Opposition Leader to give in writing the allegations against his son and had said he was willing to order an inquiry by an official chosen by the Opposition.
Mr. Chandy, on the basis of the Chief Minister's demand, promptly gave in writing his allegations against Mr. Arun Kumar. On receipt, the Chief Minister referred it to the Lok Ayukta, which has now issued the notices to parties concerned.
Reliable sources said Mr. Chandy will examine the legal aspects of the notice issued by the Lok Ayukta because he had not filed a petition before it.
