THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Forest Department is launching the exercise to issue no objection certificates to new and existing saw mills and wood-based industries as per the Supreme Court order of October 30, 2002. An official pressnote said here on Tuesday that the field inspections of the 3,737 applications received from December 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010 would be done in two phases – the first between April 26 and 29 and the second between May 3 and 7.] The inspections would be done at the village-level. The officials of the department would visit the places mentioned in the applications, collect details, inspect the documents and premises and submit report. A copy of the report would be given to the applicant. The details which the applicants should furnish during inspection and the records which they should submit were available on the website (www.forest.kerala.gov.in). They should be present in their establishment with the original records on inspection day.
