CUTTACK: Not satisfied with the State government's affidavit over drinking water facilities provided in schools and anganwadi centres, the Orissa High Court on Tuesday once again asked the government to file a fresh affidavit mentioning how many tube wells have been installed in anganwadis from March 4 this year. This direction from the High Court came when the Division Bench of Chief Justice V Gopal Gowda and Justice B N Mohapatra was hearing the Public Interest Litigation filed by advocate Dilip Mohapatra, who had alleged that school children were facing acute drinking water problems. Mr Mohapatra had also mentioned the dal scam in the State questioning the sincerity of the State government in running the mid-day meal (MDM) scheme for school children. The HC bench also asked the State government to furnish all details about the procurement system of foodgrains to run the mid-day meal scheme.
