WFI officials meet Maken

NEW DELHI: The newly-elected office-bearers of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) led by president Dushyant Sharma met the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge), Ajay Maken, here on Tuesday.

The delegation was accompanied by current and former wrestling stars including World champion and Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Rajiv Tomar, Narsingh Yadav, Satpal and Capt. Chandroop.

The WFI sought the support of the minister in implementing its plans, especially the one targeted towards the London Olympics.

The minister, according to the WFI, expressed his happiness that all the principal office-bearers of the federation (secretary Raj Singh and treasurer Prem Nath) were well-known former internationals. — Special Correspondent
