Compromise reached in toddler case
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The parents of two-year-old John Ronaldo and management of St John's Hospital, Bangalore, are closing in on a compromise over the dispute relating to alleged medical negligence.
The toddler had been admitted to the hospital about a year ago after he accidentally spilled coffee on his face. There he suffered brain damage following sedation and prolonged ventilation. The parents appear to have warmed up to settlement with the hospital, which will foot the bill of any hospital treating him. “We're still confused about the situation and the doctors have failed to communicate to us the exact situation of our baby. Ronaldo is still breathing through the tube and battling respiratory issues,” said Kiran Chandra, Ronaldo's father.
