Workshop on e-resources

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: Integration of technological aspects in academic and business sectors was the need of the hour, M. Ayyappan, Chairman and Managing Director of the public sector Hindustan Life Care, said here on Wednesday.

He was inaugurating an international workshop on ‘the effective use of e-resources in management teaching' organised by the Institute of Management under the University of Kerala.

Mr. Ayyappan said technology, the driving force behind the business sector, was also revolutionising the academic sphere. Yet, he said, the differences between the academic and business sectors persisted.

It was time to bridge this difference, he added.

Suresh George from Coventry University stressed the need to replace the conventional method of classroom teaching of business management with the virtual technique.

Representatives of industry handled sessions at the workshop targeting MBA and M.Com. teachers.
