COIMBATORE: As a prelude to the national training programme on ‘Concepts on Nowcasting and Meso-Scale Disturbances (CONMED 2011)' to be held at the Air Force Administrative College (AFAC) from May 9 to May 20, a logo was unveiled here on Thursday. Air Commodore Ajay Masson, Commandant, AFAC, unveiled the logo. To be held in association with Bharathiar University, the training, to be hosted by the Faculty of Meteorology of AFAC, will be sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology. Aim The programme aims to train aspiring scientists and professionals to understand the challenges faced by the aviators and meteorologists with regard to various atmospheric phenomena. As many as 40 participants from the Army, Air Force, Navy, universities, research organisations, meteorological departments, and other Governmental organisations will attend the training. It will be inaugurated by Air Marshal D. Kukreja, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, IAF, Bangalore. Experts from Bharathiar University and the Indian Air Force (IAF) are expected to attend the inauguration. The chief guest for the valediction will be Air Marshal Rajinder Singh, Senior Air Staff Officer, Training Command, IAF, Bangalore.
