Collector pats teachers, students

VISAKHAPATNAM: Untiring efforts by students and their teachers helped the district stand second among other districts in the pass percentage of junior Intermediate examination, Collector J. Syamala Rao said on Friday.

Visakhapatnam recorded a pass percentage of 63 this year while it was fourth in the State last year with 55.01 per cent. Mr. Syamala Rao congratulated the students, teachers, and managements of government and private junior colleges for the success.

Mr. Syamala Rao also expressed happiness over the government colleges improving the percentage by 16.14 over last year by recording 46.78 per cent.

Frequent reviews and increased supervision by the District Administration helped the colleges to improve their performance. He was particularly happy that the Centre for Excellence at Madhurawada secured good pass percentage.
