Workshop on ‘Svarajatis'

THANJAVUR: Marabu Foundation at Thillaisthanam near Thiruvaiyaru is conducting a four-day workshop on "Svarajatis" of Sri Shyama Sastrigal (one of the Carnatic music trinity) at Thillaisthanam from May 1to 4.
The aim of the workshop is to make young artistes learn the kritis and pass them on to posterity, said a press release issued here on Saturday by the foundation.
Free boarding and lodging will be provided by the foundation to the participants. S.Raja, sixth generation descendant of Shyama Sastrigal, will be the chief guest and deliver the valedictory address. Dr.Rama Kausalya of the foundation will be the course director and the resource persons are S.Rajeswari, Mythili Kannan and Vijaya Jaya said the press release.
