JAIPUR: The first-ever automated teller machine (ATM) in the cooperative sector in Rajasthan started functioning at the State Cooperative Bank here over the weekend with bank officials taking a resolve to render core banking and state-of-the-art services to consumers, largely comprising farmers. Inaugurating the ATM on the Apex Bank premises, Cooperative Minister Parsadilal Meena said all Central cooperative banks as well as their branches across the State would be linked with the ATM network in a phased manner. All branches of the Apex Bank would get ATMs in the first phase, he added ‘Speed up computerisation' Mr. Meena asked the cooperative banks to speed up computerisation and improve their functioning to serve the changing needs of consumers. He issued the first ATM debit card of the State Cooperative Bank and operated the newly installed machine. The Minister also dedicated a library room at the bank for providing study material to the employees. State Cooperative Bank chairperson Leela Maderna and Managing Director R. C. S. Jodha explained salient features of the modernisation programme launched at the bank. Among others, Principal Cooperative Secretary Tapesh Pawar, Registrar of Cooperative Societies Prem Singh Mehra and managing directors of all 29 Central cooperative banks functioning in the State were present.
