‘Sai Baba did Telugus proud'

VIJAYAWADA: Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, being born as a Telugu, is a great honour for all the Telugus, said former Minister Mandali Buddha Prasad. Condoling the death he said that Sai Baba preached love for ones mother land and for ones mother tongue.

“This is my mother land and this is my ‘mathrubhasha' the baba used to often say, he recalled. Baba preached that “gram seva is ram seva” and served the poor in the villages through his followers. Mr. Buddha Prasad recalled that he had the opportunity of having Baba's darshan twice. Once, when his father was Education Minister and on the second occasion, he saw, Baba at the Hyderabad Airport while was going abroad. Baba always wanted the Telugu People to be united. Working for the unity and the greatness of the Telugus would be the best tribute for Sathya Sai Baba, Mr. Buddha Prasad said in a statement. Meanwhile, office-bearers of the BJP city committee held an emergency meet to condole the demise of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. City general secretary D. Umamaheswara Raju was among others who attended.
