Coimbatore: In view of the “Poo Chatti” procession of Thandumariamman Temple on Avanashi Road on April 27, the city police have announced changes in traffic pattern from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. A release from Commissioner of Police C. Sylendra Babu said the procession would start at around 7 a.m. from Koni Amman Temple on Big Bazaar Street and would pass through Town Hall, Oppanakkara Street, Lingappa Chetty Street, Milk Market, Syrian Church Road, Brooke Bond Road, Avinashi Road, Murugan Theatre road, Anupparpalayam, Nanjappa Road and reach Thandumariamman Temple on Avinashi Road. Vehicles from Palakkad Road will have to go through Sungam (Valankulam) bypass road or Perur bypass road to enter the city. Vehicles from Mettupalayam Road and Thadagam Road that are bound for Ukkadam and Pollachi should go through Ponniahrajapuram, Selvapuram Ramamoorthy Road, Shivalaya theatre and Perur bypass road. Vehicles from Perur will have to pass through Perur bypass road to reach Ukkadam and should take Valankulam bypass road or Shivalaya theatre, Ramamoorthy Road, Chockampudur, Ponniahrajapuram and Thadagam Road to reach their destinations. Those who want to reach Tiruchi Road from Avanashi Road should take Huzur Road, either from the JM Bakery signal or Anna Statue and go through Race Course or railway station.
