Sruta shocks Vanishka

HYDERABAD: Sruta Kirti of Hyderabad shocked fifth-seeded Vanishka Sawhney of Chandigarh 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 in the second round of the Asian under-14 ranking tennis tournament in Pune.

In the quarterfinal on Wednesday, Sruta will take on Shameema of Coimbatore.

ITF tennis

Andhra Pradesh Lawn Tennis Association will organise Sree Nidhi ITF $ 10,000 tennis tournament for women at Sree Nidhi School in Moinabad from April 30 to May 7.

Signing-in will be on April 29 and the qualifying rounds will commence on April 30. For details, call 9440422920.

Suresh Rajan shines

A fine all-round show by Suresh Rajan (three for 14 & struck 51) helped CC XI score a nine-wicket win over Tata Docomo in the Corporate cricket tournament here.

The scores:

Tata Docomo 137 for eight (Chandu 39, Suresh Rajan three for 14) lost to CC XI 139 for one (Charan 71 not out, Suresh Rajan 51).

Golf camp
