Staff Reporter

In protest:Police holding talks with the mobile phone traders of Tirunelveli Junction on Tuesday.

TIRUNELVELI: Condemning the recent sudden spurt in burglary, mobile phone traders of Tirunelveli Junction closed down their shops for a while on Tuesday.

Following repeated incidents of burglary in the mobile phone shops here, the traders closed down their shops, demanding that the culprits involved in the burglaries be arrested and concrete measures taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in future.

When they tried to stage a road roko, the police held talks with the protesting mobile phone traders and assured them of stringent action and tough measures to stop break-ins.

Following the assurance, the traders withdrew their protest.
