Eshwarappa told to appear in court
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: The Seventh Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court here on Wednesday directed State BJP president K.S. Eshwarappa to appear before court on May 28 in connection with a call he allegedly gave for a Karnataka bandh on January 22.
The court had earlier directed Mr. Eshwarappa to appear before it on Wednesday. However, the BJP leader was reportedly in Puttaparthi to attend Sri Sathya Sai Baba's funeral.
Since he failed to appear in court on Wednesday, ACMM Judge Jayashankar directed the authorities concerned to issue summons to Mr. Eshwarappa personally.
Advocate Dharmapal Gowda had filed a private complaint against Mr. Eshwarappa for allegedly giving a call for a bandh.
