KOTTAYAM: Roy Kallivayalil, psychiatrist and president-elect of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS), has been elected secretary-general of the World Association for Social Psychiatry (WASP). The first Indian to be elected to the coveted post, Dr. Kallivayalil will assume office in Geneva on May 1. Dr. Kallivayalil is the vice-president of the Indian Psychiatric Society. He will speak on the ‘Indian perspective on person-centred medicine' at the WHO headquarters in Geneva on the plenary session of the fourth Geneva Conference on Person-Centred Medicine.
