CHITRADURGA: A couple was found murdered, with their throats slit, in an agricultural farm near Chaluvadi Math in the outskirts of the city on Wednesday. The victims have been identified as Hanumanthappa (60) and Chandramma (50) of Obbavva Nagatihalli village of Chitradurga taluk. The bodies were found wrapped in a blanket in makeshift sheds on the farm where they were working. According to the police, the two could have been killed on on Tuesday night. The police suspect Jaishankar, a serial killer, of committing the crime. Jaishankar of Tamil Nadu is wanted by the police in connection with as many as 19 crimes, including rape and murder. Meanwhile, the police also found a two-year old girl, Shilpa, stranded in another room in the shed. According to the police, Shilpa, believed to be the granddaughter of the victims, was locked in the adjacent room. As she was in a severely dehydrated condition, the police immediately shifted her to the government hospital, where she is said to be recovering. Senior police officials visited the spot. The Chitradurga Rural police have a registered case.
