Coimbatore surgeon receives award

COIMBATORE: Consultant Obesity and Metabolic Surgeon of Coimbatore-based Gem Hospital Praveen Raj has won the Best International Paper Award at the recent annual congress of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) at San Antonio in Texas State of the United States.

Association president Roman Berguer presented a shield and $ 2500 to Mr. Praveen Raj. The award was given for his presentation on metabolic surgery for persons with a combination of lifestyle disorders such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol.
