KOTTAYAM: Writer Sara Joseph has been selected for this year's Muttathu Varkey Award. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, office-bearers of the Muttathu Varkey Foundation said Ms. Joseph had been selected for her collection of stories ‘Papathara'. The award carries a purse of Rs.33,333, a citation, and a statuette. Ms. Joseph is the 20th recipient of the award. Campus literature The award for literary contribution from the campus has gone to P. Neetha, a student of Government Victoria College, Palakkad. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.4,000 and a citation. The awards will be presented at a function to be held on May 28 which coincides with the 22nd death anniversary of writer Muttathu Varkey. Muttathu Varkey Foundation managing trustee T.M. Sebastian, convener M.K. Madhavan Nair, secretary Mathew J. Muttathu, Ravi Deecee, K.V. Thomas, and Siby Thomas were present at the press conference.
