Chhattisgarh, UP win titles

VIJAYAWADA: Chhattisgarh defeated defending champion Chandigarh 34-32 to lift the boys' title in the Lanco-ZP Krishna 24th junior National netball championship for under-19 boys and girls at the IGMC stadium here on Thursday.

In the girls' final, defending champion Uttar Pradesh registered a 24-19 victory over Karnataka.

The results:

Boys: Final: Chhattisgarh bt Chandigarh 34-32; Semifinals: Chandigarh bt Punjab 21-10, Chhattisgarh bt Uttar Pradesh 21-20; Quarterfinals: Punjab bt Rajasthan 27-20, Chandigarh bt TN 20-19, UP bt Delhi 30-15, Chhattisgarh bt AP 18-17.

Girls: Final: Uttar Pradesh bt Karnataka 24-19; Semifinals: UP bt Chhattisgarh 19-17, Karnataka bt Punjab 23-10; Quarterfinals: Karnataka bt Chandigarh 24-2, Punjab bt Tamil Nadu 16-13, UP bt Maharashtra 15-11, Chhattisgarh bt Andhra Pradesh 31-9 . — Principal Correspondent
