Meet to discuss fixing of auto meters

Bidar: Deputy Commissioner Sameer Shukla has directed the convening of a meeting of autorickshaw drivers, RTO officials and the traffic police in the city to discuss the fixing of meters to autorickshaws. He instructed Regional Transport Officer B.B. Akki to initiate the process.

The decision was taken at a meeting on Wednesday, according to a release.

The Regional Transport Authority, headed by the Deputy Commissioner, has identified 37 parking places for autorickshaws in the city. Bus stops are also being identified in the city.

The district administration will hold a meeting with push-cart owners' associations to fix a definite parking place for the carts. Authorities have tentatively fixed the road between the Nehru Stadium and Mohan Market for this purpose.

Additional Superintendent of Police P.B. Marthurkar, City Municipal Commissioner S.P. Mudhol, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Shivashankar G. were present at the meeting, according to the release.
