Nine flights cancelled

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Nine Air India flights originating from Bangalore International Airport were cancelled on Thursday as the strike by the members of Indian Commercial Pilots' Association (ICPA) of the erstwhile Indian Airlines seeking pay parity entered its second day.

Similarly, nine flights scheduled to fly into BIA from various destinations across the country were also cancelled.

Flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad and Chennai were among those that were cancelled.

“Though nine flights from Bangalore were cancelled, passengers were not put into inconvenience as they were accommodated on other flights,” an Air India spokesperson said.

According to the spokesperson, additional staff has been deployed at customer service centres and call centres to provide information to passengers. Senior officials monitored the situation at the airport. “No passenger was inconvenienced,” he added.
