THRISSUR: Actor and film director M.G. Sasi got his head tonsured during a sit-in he staged on Thursday in front of the Thrissur Corporation. Onlookers were taken by surprise when Mr. Sasi arrived at the Municipal Office road, unveiled a poster against Endosulfan, and engaged a barber to get his head tonsured. “I am an actor. So I used my body as a vehicle of protest,” he said. He wondered why authorities were reluctant to clamp a nationwide ban on Endosulfan. “The whole world is against it. Why should India promote a killer pesticide? Let us ban it for our children,” Mr. Sasi said.
