THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: About 91.37 per cent of the candidates — 4,18,967 of 4,58,559 — who took the SSLC examinations in March 2011 have qualified for further studies. The pass percentage in the previous academic year was 90.72 per cent. Minister for Education M.A. Baby, who released the results along with Director of Public Instruction A.P.M. Mohammad Hanish here on Thursday, said 5,821 students had secured A+ grade in all subjects, 18,823, A, 42,218, B+ 80,212, B, 1,46,424, C+ and 2,63,114 students got C grade. Kottayam revenue district recorded the highest pass percentage, 97.02, followed by Kannur, 96.24 per cent. Thiruvananthapuram has the lowest, 85.93 per cent. Kannur education district won the distinction of the highest number of students securing A+ in all subjects. As many as 248 girls and 127 boys got A+ in all subjects. Kuttanad has the lowest number, 13 students — 10 girls and three boys. Thrissur revenue district has the highest number of students obtaining A+, 731. Pala education district has the highest pass percentage of 98.36 and Palakkad the lowest of 83.74. As many as 155 government, 216 aided, and 206 unaided schools recorded 100 per cent pass. St. Antony's HSS, Valiyathura, and Government HSS, Koippuram, had the lowest pass percentage of 49.32 per cent and 47.37 per cent respectively.
