Five Indians in finals

New Delhi: Five Indian boxers made it to the finals in the AIBA World Championships for women, youth and juniors in Antalya, Turkey, on Thursday.

Lalenkawli (46kg), Nikhat Zareen (50kg) and Lalfakzuali (52kg) advanced to the final in junior category, while Sarjubala Devi (48kg) and Minu Basumatary (64kg) made it to the summit clash in the youth section.

The results (Indians unless specified): Juniors: Light-bantam (52kg): Lalfakzuali bt Aisaule Taiyar (Kaz) 26-8. Flyweight (50kg): Nikhat Zareen bt Demir Ulku (Tur) 27-21. Pin-weight (46kg): Lalenkawli bt Satoko Nakata (Jpn) 22-12.

Youth: Sarjubala bt Kyzaybay Nazym (Kaz) 26-21. 64kg: Minu Basumatary bt Irina Gilca (Mol) 25-17. 60kg: Patrica Berghult (Swe) bt Poonam Chahal 17-3. 54kg: Thi Duyen Luu (Vie) bt Pwilao Basumatary 20-13 . — PTI
