MCA and police sort out issues
Mumbai: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and local police officials have met and thrashed out the differences on the security procedure to be followed by accredited persons for the DLF-IPL competition.
The meeting took place following a directive from the BCCI Working Committee to the MCA that it should endeavour to remove all impediments for the smooth functioning of the stake holders of the IPL on match days at the Wankhede Stadium. The MCA argued that that the IPL accreditation card must be recognised by the police — since the BCCI has already undertaken the verification process — and the police need not insist on further verification.
“We have sorted out the issues and will inform the BCCI on Friday,'' said Prof. Ratnakar Shetty, Treasurer, MCA. — Special Correspondent
