Bangalore: A mother and daughter were among four persons who were killed in road accidents in the city and its outskirts since Wednesday night. Mamtha (25) and her daughter Shailaja (4), residing near Hoskote, died on the spot when a speeding tractor rammed the motorcycle on which they were riding pillion. The tragedy occurred near Kolathur on the Kammasandra-Gangavara Road. The Hoskote police said Mamatha's husband Nataraja was injured. The trio was heading towards Nagenahalli near Devanahalli to attend a puja. The tractor driver is absconding. Crushed to death Anjaneya (66), a resident of 4th Cross of 7th Main in RPC Layout, was crushed under the wheels of a speeding van on Mysore Road here Thursday morning. The central traffic police said he was on his way to see his wife who was in hospital. The van rear-ended his motorbike and fell, coming under the bigger vehicle's wheels. The driver fled leaving behind the van. Pedestrian killed Thangavelu (62), a Roopena Agrahara resident, died in a hit-and-run near the bus-stand late Wednesday when he was crossing the road. Passersby rushed the severely injured victim to NIMHANS in the city, where he died, the Madivala traffic police said.
