‘Expedite work under Aasare scheme'

Staff Correspondent

Raichur: E.V. Ramana Reddy, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, has directed the district administration to complete the construction of houses under Aasare scheme in two months.

Speaking after reviewing a district-level meeting here on Friday, he said that the Government planned to construct 10,452 houses under the scheme to rehabilitate the displaced families in 57 flood-hit villages of the district. The agencies had been able to complete only 5,678 houses so far.

The work in the flood-hit villages of Talamari, Heggsanahalli, Buradipad and Tungabahdra, was going at a snail's pace. The district administration should speed up work, he said.
