Shop owner conned

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: A Royapuram-based cereal shop owner was allegedly cheated of over Rs.2 lakh by two of his employees.

The accused, Sivaram and Navaneetha Prabhu, who were employed as salesmen, allegedly deposited cheques meant for the shop into their own account over a period of time.

When a number of retailers started defaulting on payment to the shop, the establishment's manager, Balaji, alerted the police.

The Royapuram police have registered a case.
