HYDERABAD: The Department of Posts, in association with Reliance Money Infrastructure (RMIL), will sell 24 carat gold coins through 54 identified post offices throughout the State. The coins weighing 0.5 gram, 1 gm, 5 gm, 8 gm, 10 gm, 20 gm and 50 gm will come in tamper-proof packs, said a press release. The coins are guaranteed 99.99 per cent pure gold and minted by ‘Valcambi sa Switzerland'. They have benefits like international recognised certification, low risk of duplication, quality packaging and product standardisation. The department has announced “Akshaya Tritiya” offer of 0.5 gram coins free on purchase of 10 gm of gold for all. All government State or Central government employees are eligible for 6 per cent discount on the day's price, said K. Raman, Manager, RMIL. The offer is valid till June 30. Lepakshi offer The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited will be selling gold coins of 999.9 purity at Lepakshi showrooms in the twin cities on the eve of ‘Akshaya Tritiya'. These gold coins weighing 0.5 gm to 50 gm would be sold at three showrooms at prescribed rates of the central government in Gunfoundry, Musheerabad and Secunderabad from Monday, said Corporation Managing Director Y. Madhusudhan Reddy at a press conference here. The corporation would be selling the coins in association with the Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC) Limited. A discount of 0.5 per cent on gold coins and five per cent on silver coins and articles were also offered for customers.
