Coping with the disease:Children at the camp will be taught anger management and breathing techniques, among other things.

BANGALORE: To mark World Asthma Day on Tuesday, Address Health Solutions India Private Ltd., a health venture, is organising ‘Inspire 2011' for children with wheeze/asthma, and for those who use inhalers.

With asthma becoming an increasingly common health problem in the city, the camp is intended to educate children on the problem through innovative games, yoga, art and craft, stated a release from the organisers.

Instructions on various techniques, including anger management and breathing techniques, will be given to help cope with the disease. Anatomy Jigsaw, Breathing Pipes, Bronchial Relay and Peak Flow are some of the games that will be part of the camp, said the release. Badrinarayanan, a reputed yoga instructor from Patanjali Yoga Kendra, will participate.

‘Asthma Absent'

To address the issue of rising number of asthma cases and provide possible solutions, the company has also launched a ‘Know more wheeze campaign' through which the organisation plans to carry out an accreditation programme for schools called ‘Asthma Absent'.

This will include a teacher training programme, an asthma predictive screening programme for children, a school environment audit and a school nurse training programme.

The multiple two-day camps will be held between 9.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on day one and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on day two at Buoyancee Activity Centre in Jayanagar (May 7 and 8), Auden School in Banashankari (May 14 and 15) and in Radcliffe School, Bannerghatta Road (May 21 and 22).
