Classical music fest from tomorrow

Bangalore: Sri Thyagaraja Sabha Trust, in association with the Directorate of Kannada and Culture, will organise the 40th Shankara Jayanthi Music Festival from May 4 to 8. The event will include performances by 26 artistes, representing both vocal and instrumental genres of classical music.
Addressing presspersons here on Monday, B.K. Chandra Mouli, treasurer of the trust, said renowned musician M.S. Sheela will preside over the festival. She will be honoured with the title ‘Kalabhooshana'.
Vocalist Padma Murthy, veena exponent Revathi Murthy, organiser from Mumbai B. Nagabhushan and vedic scholar G.A. Subramanya Sastry will also be honoured.
