Protect playgrounds

In response to last week's Public Eye on playgrounds, titled “Ground Reality”, dated April 26, Prof. Ashok Jayaram of the CMR Institute of Management Studies, Kalyan Nagar, writes: Bangalore city was once renowned for, apart from its air-conditioned climate, flora and fauna with ample space for children's parks and playgrounds. It has become a thing of the past in the last five to eight years, what with all of them being converted into marriage pandals, commercial exhibitions and even space for early morning joggers. Some are dumping grounds for garbage. Authorities need to ponder seriously on the deteriorating condition of such grounds.
