Bangalore: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa held a meeting of Ministers and important party leaders on Monday night.

According to sources, the meeting was a continuation of zonal-wise consultations held with party MLAs recently.

The meeting discussed the need for organising a programme to mark the occasion of the party's Government completing three years on May 30.

Corrective measures

The meeting, which was attended by party State unit president K.S. Eshwarappa among others, tried to analyse the strong and weak areas in the last three years of the government and deliberated on the corrective measures to be taken in the remaining two years.

It was a free-wheeling discussion where everybody were allowed to put forth their views as well as suggestions.

The meeting set the tone for the party office-bearers meeting to be held on May 5 where deliberations on toning up administration will be held as part of image makeover exercise.

It will be followed by meetings of zilla panchayat and chiefs of various corporations, sources said.

Series of meetings

The party has lined up a series of meetings on governance after its central leader L.K. Advani gave a stern message recently by observing that providing good governance was more important than coming to power.

Mr. Advani had stressed the need for ensuring that the party leaders conduct was above board.

In this context, the party is trying to bring about some visible changes in governance by monitoring the functioning style of Ministers.

Such an exercise has come at a time when the Opposition parties are said to launch a campaign against the BJP Government accusing it of involving in corruption.
