Coordination meetings with bankers, officials will be conducted KAKINADA: District Collector M. Ravi Chandra on Tuesday asked the mandal development officers to ensure at least 65 working days each must be provided to the families that possessed job cards under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) by the end of next month. Addressing a review meeting with the officials here, Mr. Ravi Chandra stressed the need for preventing migrations of daily labourers from villages in the absence of agriculture works. He said works such as land development, levelling of school grounds, and government lands could be taken up under the NREGS during the summer season. Referring to the implementation of welfare schemes in the district, Mr. Ravi Chandra wanted the officials to ensure that the grounding of units that were sanctioned by the end of March at the earliest. He said coordination meetings with the bankers and officials would be conducted at mandal-level to ensure proper implementation of the grounding of the units. He sought immediate response from officials on drinking water problem and grievance redressal. Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer B. Bhavani Das was present.
