Trivial incident triggers rumours

DAVANGERE: Tension prevailed on the busy Lawyers' Road here on Tuesday when a stranger entered a house, scaring a small girl who screamed and fell unconscious. Immediately, others in the house and neighbours gathered, mistaking the stranger for the psychopath Jaishankar, who allegedly killed a couple in Chitradurga a few days ago.
Meanwhile, the stranger, fled the spot. Additional Superintendent of Police Kumar S. Karning, along with other officials, rushed to the spot and showed the people photographs of Jaishankar. The people said that the stranger was someone else.
