SALEM: Police Commissioner Sunilkumar Singh on Wednesday handed over education grant to the wards of police personnel who had scored good marks in SSLC and Plus Two examinations held in 2009-2010. While Rs. 27,500 was given to 10 SSLC students, a sum of Rs. 34,000 was distributed to 10 students for scoring good marks in Plus Two examinations. In SSLC, N. Ranjani, daughter of head constable M. Navamani and under the Plus Two category, P. Sharmily, daughter of the head constable S. Palanisamy, received Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 7,500 respectively. The Commissioner after giving away the grant to the wards had asked them to sustain their good performances in higher education too so that they could make both their parents and the department proud. Mr. Sunilkumar Singh also distributed Kisan Vikas Patras to 24 Special Sub Inspectors who had completed 25 years in service. Each one of them had received patra worth Rs.500. Senior police officers were present at the function.
