VIJAYAWADA: Tamil Nadu's B. Radhakrishnan and G. Revathy won the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the 13th South Zone carrom championship that concluded recently at LVR & Sons Club at Guntur, according to Andhra Carrom Association secretary Jaleel here on Thursday. In the men's final, Radhakrishnan defeated Bharatidasan, also of Tamil Nadu 25-12, 25-7, while Revathy beat V. Saritha Devi of Hyderabad 25-13, 24-20 in the women's final. Andhra's Dilleswara Rao registered a 14-11, 7-25, 25-4 victory over A. Mahendran of Tamil Nadu in the junior boys' final while M.S.K. Harika defeated TN's Kanakadhara 22-9, 15-10 in the junior girls' final. V.J. Vinay Kumar, Commissioner, Income Tax, gave away the prizes. The results: Team championship: Men: TN bt Andhra 3-0, Third place: Andhra bt Karnataka 2-1; Women: TN bt Hyderabad 3-0, Third place: Karnataka bt Hyderabad 3-0. Men's singles final: B. Radhakrishnan (TN) bt Bharatidasan (TN) 25-12, 25-7. Women singles final: G. Revathy (TN) bt V. Saritha Devi (Hyd) 25-13, 24-20. Junior boys final: Dilleswara Rao (And) bt A.
