Proud moment:Former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy honouring Nikhat Zareen in Nizamabad on Friday. NIZAMABAD: Former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy has said that the 15-year-old girl Nikhat Zareen has brought the entire district alive with her excellent performance and achievement of the World Junior Women Boxing Championship held in Turkey recently. Talking to The Hindu here on Friday after honouring Zareen, he said that it was the responsibility of the government to extend support and encouragement to her and expressed the hope that she would win a gold medal in the 2016 Olympics provided proper coaching was given. Promising to take Zareen's outstanding achievement to the Chief Minister's notice, he assured the representatives of the District Boxing Association that he would ensure a cash prize and other benefits to her. Describing her performance as something remarkable with the training received at the district level, he said: “We need to provide her excellent coaching to further sharpen her talent.” State's responsibility Mr. Suresh Reddy said that there was a lot of talent in the rural areas and it was the government's responsibility to give coaching and other assistance to bring out the latent talent among youth in the rural areas, he said. Boxing Association members Pappa Khan, Gopi, M.A. Sukur and Zareen's coach Shamshuddin met Mr. Suresh Reddy.
