CHENNAI: The National Information Centre of Trinity College, London, at Musee Musical here was inaugurated on Friday. The centre, “a dream come true” for M. Haricharan Das, National Manager, Trinity College, London, would cater to the needs of young musicians who need a platform to launch themselves. The centre has an auditorium apart from classrooms for the purpose of teaching, performing and conducting the college's music examinations. Paul Sellers, Director South India, British Council Division, who inaugurated the centre, said: “It is a fantastic resource and a benefit to the music community. The shop [Musee Musical] has a history of being a part of the classical music scene in the city.” Pianist Anil Srinivasan, who performed two songs, Katrinilaye Varum Geetham and Vande Mataram, said the auditorium was an opportunity for fledgling artists to perform to a small audience and for veteran musicians for rehearsals. Zonal manager of Bank of India D. Gopalakrishnan felicitated.
