Residents protest power cuts

TAMBARAM: Protesting frequent power cuts in their area, residents of East Tambaram staged a demonstration on Velachery Main Road on Thursday night. According to the residents, power supply was regularly disrupted between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., in addition to the daily one-hour load-shedding.

They had made complaints to officials, but in vain. A group of men and women gathered near the TNAGEDCO office on Velachery Main Road at 11 p.m. Selaiyur police pacified the residents, who dispersed later.

However, power supply was not restored before 1 a.m., the residents added.
