Complaint against special officer

Tirupur: A 35-year-old woman employee of a ration shop, who attempted suicide at Udumalpet on Thursday, had lodged a complaint against a special officer in the Cooperative Department accusing him of torturing and harassing her. According to the complainant, she attempted suicide unable to bear the harassment. The complaint came close on the heels of the Udumalpet police registering a case against the woman for attempting suicide.

Burglary

A textile unit at Kumar Nagar was allegedly burgled on Thursday and cloth rolls worth Rs. 50,000 were taken away from there. The police said the incident occurred when the security guard was fast asleep.
