Admission into music school on

KARUR: Admissions are under way at the Government Music School here and eligible candidates can get admitted to the various courses on offer, Headmistress S.P. Devika Rani has said in a statement issued here on Friday.
Mrs. Devika Ranistated that the Government Music School was started 12 years back and has been rendering music educational service to the residents and public in the district.
Coursers including those on Kuralisai, Nagaswaram, Thavil, Devaram, Bharathanatyam, Volin and Mridangam are on offer to the students of either sex.
The three year courses culminate with the exams conducted by the State Government.
Those who had cleared the seventh standard and are in the age group of 12 to 25 can get enrolled for the courses in the school.
The tuition fee is pegged at Rs.152 per annum to facilitate music education to even the poorest students.
In addition to this, the students would get the free bus pass. Those desirous and eligible could get the application forms from the Headmistress at the school premises on the Jawahar Bazar, according to the press release.
