Prabha Sridevan assumes office as IPAB Chairman

CHENNAI: Justice Prabha Sridevan, a retired Judge of the Madras High Court, on Monday assumed charge as Chairman of the Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB.)

Ms. Justice Prabha Sridevan retired as a Judge of the Madras High Court on August 8 last year.

The IPAB has been constituted to hear appeals against the decisions of the Registrar under the Trade Marks Act, Patents Act and the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act. It is headquartered in Chennai. It conducts Circuit Bench sittings in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

S. Usha is the Vice-Chairman and D.P.S. Parmar, Technical Member (Patents) of the board, according to a release.
